LIN (Local Interconnect Network) is a series network protocol used for communication between components in vehicles. LIN-bus is a supplement to CAN-bus, and difference is that LIN offers lower performance and reliability but it also has drastically lower costs. LIN MASTER serves as a gateway to CAN-bus. Operative voltage of 12V.
This breakout has MASTER protocol on it. Master/Slave is a model of asymetric communication where one device (Master) controls one or more devices or processes (Slave) that follows all commands from Master. One Master can control up to 16 devices.
